Holism for weight management is about love.

I have found that my patients usually know what they need to do in order to achieve ideal body weight. They are well aware of what foods to eat and what foods to avoid. However, there is often some "block" that prevents them from acting on this information.

My holistic approach to weight loss provides patients with the tools to get past their unique "block", combining the latest scientific information about what to eat and how to exercise with one-on-one support to address the emotional and spiritual issues surrounding food choices. I believe that love leads the way to self care, and we work closely with our patients to ensure that they love themselves enough to do what it takes, to take care of themselves.

We set very realistic and easily obtainable goals. We ask our patients to be aware of and discuss their emotional experiences as they change their diet. What exactly are they feeling as they confront a craving for a comfort food? Answering these types of questions enables us to bring current patterns of behavior into conscious awareness and transform them into living a lifestyle more reflective of who they truly want to be.

Our approach, which utilizes love to heal emotional and spiritual wounds and uses cutting edge medical food shakes and bars to provide nutrient dense low calorie snacks almost always achieves weight reduction in the neighborhood of one to two pounds per week. Our program is about taking slow, measured steps that are attainable and do not result in a feeling of food deprivation. Instead, we teach you how to regain control of your life through accepting and loving yourself as a human being, not only with all of your faults, but also with all of your strengths.
